4-Year-Old Boy Suffers Minor Injuries After Falling From Second Story Apartment

A 4-year-old boy was rushed to a hospital after he fell about 15 feet from a second-story window, landing on a mezzanine. The incident happened around 2:30PM Monday afternoon at the Market Street Apartments in Redding. The boy, who landed on his left side, was conscious when crews arrived and was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further evaluation, but despite the fall, received only minor injuries. Investigators looked into the circumstances of the fall and found no evidence of abuse or wrongdoing. Police are calling this an accident but emphasized the importance of securing windows and supervising children, especially in multi-story buildings.
