74-Year-Old Man In Critical Condition After Stabbing In Red Bluff

Red Bluff Police are investigating an attempted murder, with a suspect in custody and a victim in critical condition. Just before 11 O’clock Wednesday night officers were called for a reported stabbing at the Red Bluff RV and Mobile Home Village off Gilmore Road. They found a 74-year-old man suffering from puncture wounds, and he was transported to a hospital. Witnesses at the scene identified the assailant as 47-year-old Paul Pulido. Officers were then told that Pulido was nearby at the USA Gas Station on Antelope Boulevard brandishing what’s described as a “slashing weapon”. Pulido would not surrender, even with the arrival of backup including Red Bluff Police Officers, Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies, CHP Officers and Forest Service Officers. Negotiating failed to get Pulido to give up so he was hit with a shotgun-fired beanbag, and that caused him to drop the weapon. He was booked into jail on a Half Million Dollars bail. The victim remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Witnesses are urged to call Red Bluff Police at 527-3131.
