A prescribed burn is planned for Monday at Whiskeytown National Recreation area, as weather allows. The “Coggins Prescribed Burn” will involve 80 acres between County Line Road and Crystal Creek Road. The burn will be done in segments to limit smoke production and make it safer for firefighters. The operation will improve conditions for wildlife and help prevent catastrophic fires in the future.
