Here’s another chance to get a new best friend without spending much money. Adoption fees of $70 or less at Haven Humane Society are covered by the Bissell Pet Foundation starting Saturday and continuing all next week. The “Empty the Shelters” adoption event takes place at animal shelters all across the country. The program funded by the manufacturer of Bissell Carpet Cleaners has helped more than 400,000 pets find homes since the program began 10 years ago. At Haven Humane Society all adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered. Many of the animals available at Haven can be previewed at havenhumane.org.
