Anderson Police Will Hold DUI Checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint will be conducted Thursday night by the Anderson Police Department. Officers will check for valid drivers licenses and screen for signs of impairment by alcohol or drugs, including prescription drugs and cannabis. Between 6pm and 3am the checkpoint will be at a location inside Anderson city limits with a history of drunk driving crashes and arrests. A first time DUI results in an average of more than $13,000 in fines and penalties, and a suspended license.
