This Monday is Labor Day and it will mark the 40th year for the annual Labor Day Picnic sponsored by the Five Counties Central Labor Council at the main BBQ area of Anderson River Park. Admission is free. Meal tickets are still just $5 and will buy a hot dog, hamburger, or chicken, along with beans and chips. Proceeds go toward scholarships. There will be live music by the Fire Mountain Rock Band. There’s also fishing and other fun activities for the kids. It’s all to celebrate working men and women and to honor the advances labor unions have won for all workers. It will be held Monday from 10AM to 3PM at Anderson River Park.
