Anderson Police say crime has plummeted in their jurisdiction. They’re boasting about a 33% drop in the city’s overall crime rate last year compared to 2023. That includes a 78% decrease in burglaries and a 46% decrease in larcenies. Reported incidents of crime fell from 373 to 250. There was a rise in violent crime, but the APD says that’s largely attributable to shoplifters resisting apprehension.
