APD: K9 Sniffs Out Drugs, Officers Recover Stolen Vehicle On Wednesday

An Anderson Police dog assisted as patrol officers made two separate felony arrests Wednesday evening. A little after 8 O’clock a car driven by 42-year-old Michael Robert Ridout of Shasta Lake City was stopped by officers at Missouri Lane and 3rd Street in Anderson. Rip the K9 sniffed around and zeroed in on the dashboard of the car. Officers say they found about a Quarter Pound of Methamphetamine along with evidence of sales.

A couple hours later, a little before 10:30PM, officers recovered a stolen vehicle. A car that had been reported stolen from a tow yard in Corning was spotted at the AM/PM on Rhonda Road. Officers did a high-risk traffic stop with guns drawn and detained 44-year-old Chaygamem Lake of Shasta Lake City. He apparently tried to pass off a false bill of sale, and he also had a suspended license due to a DUI. He was booked into jail.
