Interstate 5 traffic backed up during rush hour Thursday morning. At 8:30 a big rig blew a tire on Northbound I-5 a little north of Knighton Road. That caused a number of vehicles behind the tractor-trailer to swerve into each other. Four vehicles were involved, and at least one person complained of pain but nobody was seriously injured. The fast lane and the slow lane were both blocked for about 10 minutes, with traffic funneled through the middle lane, but the slow down lasted considerably longer.
