A dead body has been found in Lake Shasta that the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says is likely a man who went missing almost a month ago. Search efforts have been ongoing since June 3rd when 22-year-old Maxziel Castro did not return from kayaking in the Salt Creek Inlet. His kayak and other belongings were found that day. The body was found by a boater near there Monday. The Coroner’s Office is working to confirm the identity through DNA.
