Cal Fire Plans To Burn Nearly 800 Acres This Week In Tehama County

Cal Fire is planning to do a prescribed burn Monday at the north edge of Tehama County. As weather allows, 134 acres will be torched on the Bengard Ranch in the Lake California area. Cal Fire wants to create a buffer zone around the Lake California community to protect homes from any future wildfire that may occur in that area.

A large prescribed burn continues Tuesday in Tehama County. Work has been ongoing at the Nature Conservancy’s Dye Creek Preserve between 3rd Avenue in Los Molinos and Lassen Road in Vina. As weather permits, 649 acres starting Tuesday.
