Cal Fire is planning to do a couple of prescribed burn projects in Tehama County next week.
As weather allows, 134 acres will be torched on the Bengard Ranch in the Lake California area. Cal Fire wants to create a buffer zone around the Lake California community to protect homes from any future wildfire that may occur in that area. The one-day project is planned for Wednesday.
A 649 acre burn is planned for next Friday on the Nature Conservancy’s Dye Creek Preserve off 3rd Avenue in the Los Molinos area.
