Shasta County Sheriff’s Detectives say a Shingletown man was murdered by the man who was supposed to be taking care of him. On June 5th someone reported that they hadn’t seen 87-year-old Thomas Anthony Cuneo for several weeks. Deputies did a welfare check at Cuneo’s home on Kaysie Rae Court in Shingletown and found him dead. He had suffered significant trauma and died of numerous stab wounds. It was learned that Cuneo’s live-in caregiver was 28-year-old Jordan Newton Moore, who also had not been seen for several weeks. Cuneo’s car was also missing. On Friday an arrest warrant was issued and on Sunday Moore was found by police in Marina and booked into Monterey County Jail. He’ll be extradited to Shasta County to face a murder charge.
