Jennifer Katske, a local nurse, who filed a court complaint in February as Jane Doe which tried to keep Measure B from appearing on next months ballot had another case dismissed in Shasta County Superior Court on Wednesday. Her first complaint was thrown out because according to Judge Ben Hanna, courts generally frown on reviewing a ballot measure before the actual election. According to a story in shastaunfiltered.com, Katske signed her name to another lawsuit and filed for an ex parte temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis, the County Board of Supervisors, and the five proponents of Measure B. County Counsel Joseph Larmour appeared on behalf of the county and the county’s employees named in the lawsuit. Larmour stated that he had not been served with the lawsuit. Katske withdrew the case; but it does appear that she intends to serve the defendants and re-file at a later date.
