A 45-year-old man from Happy Balley died in a crash near Manton Sunday night. At around 8:30PM, a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup was westbound on Highway 36 east of Manton Road at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway and smashed into a tree. The impact tore the door and support pillar from the truck. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered blunt force trauma to his head. The CHP says alcohol impairment is suspected.
