CHP Announces $41 Million In Grant Funding From Cannabis Tax Program

The California Highway Patrol has announced more than $41 Million in grant funding for 183 California law enforcement agencies, crime laboratories, local government agencies and nonprofit organizations to strengthen efforts to prevent and reduce impaired driving. Funding comes through the voter-approved Proposition 64, which directs the CHP to administer grants with program revenue coming from taxes on cannabis products sold in California. Local agencies receiving grant money include the Red Bluff, Anderson and Redding Police Departments, and the Tehama County and Shasta County Sheriffs Departments.
