The new Chair of the Shasta County Board of Supervisors next year will be Chris Kelstrom. He nominated Corkey Harmon as Vice Chair. Kelstrom’s term as Chair may end with his term as supervisor, as he’s up for re-election next June. If he loses, his seat would expire along with his chairmanship at the end of next year. Meanwhile, current Chair Kevin Crye revealed that a recent screening showed that he has a tumor. He said it’s not yet been determined if it’s cancerous or benign.
