The City of Redding is mulling over the construction of an indoor basketball facility, which would have a price tag of 40 to 80 Million Dollars. Under consideration is either a 4 court or 8 court facility. The more ambitious plan, if chosen, is expected to bring tourism Dollars to the city of around $13.5 Million in its fifth year of operation. Staff has perused existing vacant buildings in Redding and found no suitable candidate for retrofitting. At Tuesday’s meeting, the city council will receive the results of a feasibility study they commissioned at a cost of $62,500.
