City Seeks Applicants For Budget Committees

City of Redding residents who want to have a say about city finances, and really want to get involved, can apply to be on one of two newly created committees. The Financial Advisory Committee will provide input on budget development, review economic trends affecting city revenues and expenditures, and offer community-informed perspectives on financial priorities. The 7-member committee will include two city council members and five community members representing a cross section of industries and financial expertise. The Audit Committee will review internal and external audit functions, support best practices in governance and risk management, and help strengthen communication. Both committees will serve in an advisory capacity, with meetings open to the public. Appointments will be made in May. Applications are due by April 17th, and can be found at cityofredding.gov/getinvolved.
