Clint Curtis Files Hostile Work Environment Suit Against Shasta County

Shasta County Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis is projecting onto others the accusations made against himself. After two separate investigations determined Curtis had engaged in managerial misconduct and created a hostile work environment, Curtis apparently filed a claim against the county with state civil rights authorities. He says it’s him who is subject to harassment and a hostile work environment. The Board of Supervisors formally censured Curtis in August. Two unions representing elections office employees have both voted “no confidence” in Curtis’s ability to effectively perform his job. When confronted with the discord among his staff Curtis flatly says that he simply doesn’t care, calling his detractors a “mean girls club”. The County Administrative Office says Curtis has shown a complete disregard for employees’ rights. Former Assistant Clerk and Registrar Joanna Francescut takes over the elections office in January, but Curtis is in charge of the midterm election well underway. He has repeatedly said he plans to sue.
