Shasta County Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis has been ordered to face a Federal Grand Jury. The subpoena says Curtis must appear in court in Sacramento September 24th and submit materials from the June Primary Election, including tens of thousands of ballots. Among them will apparently be ballots that Curtis has alleged may be counterfeit. Curtis says he’d rather the huge volume of materials be transported to Sacramento by the FBI or other federal officials, but that may conflict with a recently enacted state law that prohibits ballots leaving the custody of county elections officials.
