Haven Humane Society will start construction on a building specifically to take in animals during large disasters. The 4,000 square foot disaster response building will shelter more than 100 dogs and cats. Funding will come from the PG&E Zogg Fire settlement, money that was given to haven specifically to improve their capacity to help during disasters. Work begins next week.
