Coroner ID’s Victims Found Dead After Crews Extinguish Structure Fire

Two people who were found dead in a structure fire in Burney have been identified by the Coroners Office. On October 7th, Burney Fire Protection District and the Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a fire west of Shasta Street in Burney. Firefighters held the damage to the one structure, and when the flames were extinguished and they were able to check inside, they found the bodies of 42-year-old Pamela Dawn Rudolph and 40-year-old Scott Michael Elmore. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Arson Task Force and the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with helpful information is urged to call 245-6135 or email mcu@co.shasta.ca.us.
