Redding Police made an arrest for a break-in Sunday afternoon at a dental office in West Redding. At 4:45PM a burglar alarm sounded at 2750 Airpark Drive, the Offices of Kristen Stewart and Dee Golles. When officers arrived they could hear someone inside and ordered them to come out, threatening to unleash Gunner the K9. A man quickly surrendered, identified as 34-year-old Derek Ward of Cottonwood. He reportedly admitted breaking in, but said he only wanted water and didn’t take anything else. Police say that in doing so, he broke an exterior security camera, shattered a glass door, and ripped out interior security system wiring. He was booked into jail for burglary and felony vandalism.
