Council Will Review Consulting Firms Budget Analysis At Tuesday’s Meeting

A report about City of Redding finances prepared by the consulting firm “Circle 6” will be discussed during Tuesday nights city council meeting. After a thorough analysis the firm was able to flag more than $80 Million of “carryover” funds from one fiscal year to the next but after reconciliation more than $64 Million of that had to be removed from the list. Most of the remaining $16 Million was earmarked, leaving around $1.2 Million that can go back into the General Fund. The total city budget is around $557 Million. The total paid to Circle 6 was $300,000. They promise, at Tuesday’s meeting, to recommend operational and structural changes that’ll provide long-term savings.
