Shasta County’s Superintendent of Schools has announced his intention to try and keep the job. Mike Freeman was appointed by the County Board of Education in 2024 after the retirement of Judy Flores. Freeman says he’s worked as an educator in Shasta County for 25 years, from high school teacher to administrator. He’ll appear on the ballot June 2nd.
