Crews Contain 300 Acre Fire In Modoc County, 2nd 280 Acre Fire Fire Breaks Out Sunday

The “Rocky Fire” a few miles west of Likely in Modoc County was declared contained Sunday at 300 acres, but another blaze, the “Romero Fire” started a few miles north of Likely Sunday and has burned 280 acres with no containment.

There was a fire in the Millville area Saturday afternoon. The Beaver Fire was burning in grass and Oak woodland off of Racoon Way. It was held to less than 2 acres.

A fire Sunday afternoon burned about 5 acres of grass and timber in the Corning area. The “Liberal Fire” broke out around 3:30PM along south Highway 99-W, and consisted of multiple spot fires along the roadside.
