Crews Gain 20% Containment On 1000 Acre Fire In Lassen County

A fire that started Tuesday in Lassen County near the Shasta County line has been holding within containment lines. The “3-1 Fire” is burning in heavy timber southwest of Fourth Butte and west of Little Valley Road. Evacuations were ordered Tuesday for several of the zones in Little Valley as crews tried to prevent the fire from jumping over the Pit River. Those evacuation notices have been downgraded to warnings. The fire had been estimated at 800 acres but it was re-mapped and is now at 1,055 acres with 20% containment.

A fire north of the Community of Hoopa in Humboldt County was greatly overestimated Wednesday morning at 50 acres. It’s been remapped and is now being called 10 acres. It’s burning in extremely steep and difficult to access terrain.
