Evacuations were ordered in North Redding Tuesday afternoon for a grass fire in the area of Highway 299 and Rugby Hill Drive. It was burning uphill with a moderate rate of spread, but was stopped at around one acre.
A vegetation fire in Happy Valley burned about 2 acres Tuesday afternoon. It was burning at a slow rate of spread off Palm Avenue and was quickly contained.
