A man was arrested Wednesday in Weaverville for the alleged murder of his brother. An out-of-state tip was received by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office reporting a murder and directing them to a property on Bear Creek Road in Weaverville. Deputies got a search warrant and arrived to find 54-year-old Kevin Jackson. He was uncooperative but was detained after a struggle. He had a loaded gun on him but no shots were fired. When interviewed, Jackson reportedly admitted that he had shot his brother Darren Jackson, several days ago and disposed of his body in a compost pile on the property. Human remains were found in the pile. Multiple dead puppies were also found on the property. Kevin Jackson was booked into jail on charges that include first degree murder.
