Two Burney men have been arrested after an investigation into the theft of a large quantity of tools, equipment and wire. There was burglary at a PG&E yard in Burney last Thursday and Shasta County Deputies say they had evidence that linked the theft to 42-year-old Tyson Noah Courtney. A traffic stop was done on Courtney on Friday and his vehicle was searched before he was released. Deputies say they found unopened spools of wire and photographed the tracking numbers, which were traced to the Sierra Pacific Mill in Burney, where Courtney works. $8,000 worth of wire was recently stolen from the mill. On Tuesday a search of Courtney’s home reportedly revealed some of the tools stolen from PG&E and a lot more wire. A second suspect in the PG&E burglary was identified as 40-year-old Adam Daniel Zamora. A search of his Burney home reportedly turned up more stolen tools and wire. The Sheriff’s Office says the value of the recovered tools and wire is around $30,000.
