Driver Of Box Truck Arrested With Load Of Cannabis Plants Headed To Siskiyou County

In a twist to the usual method of operations, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Deputies caught a truck transporting cannabis into the Mount Shasta Vista area, which is well known as a heavy cannabis cultivation area. The large box truck was stopped in the middle of the road on Shasta Vista Drive March 6th when a sheriff’s lieutenant came along and smelled the cargo. The truck driver said he was hired by an Oakland dispensary to haul 1,500 live plants to a cultivation site in the subdivision. The dispensary owner, Jenny Su of Oakland, was contacted and she confirmed that neither she nor the driver had the required permits from the State Department of Cannabis Control to grow, transport or sell the product. The driver was arrested and the truck was seized. More than 2,300 plants were inside and all were destroyed except for a random sample kept for evidence.
