A driver managed to escape his pickup truck after landing in the Trinity River on Friday. At 4:45PM Junction City Volunteer Fire Department was called to a crash west of the Junction City Store. At first they didn’t see anything, but then a couple across the river pointed out a pickup that was completely submerged underwater. The driver was sitting on the bank partly in the water, and he was retrieved with a high angle rope rescue. A medical evaluation was done and the man was apparently fine.
