Drivers Should Expect Road Construction Delays On Highway 299

Caltrans crews are doing paving operations on Highway 299 in Trinity County. Last week they were working in the Oregon Mountain area and for the next couple of weeks they’ll be between Fawn Lodge and the Buckhorn Sandhouse. Drivers should plan for delays of up to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, delays of up to 70 minutes begin Tuesday on Highway 299 East on the Pit One Grade between Burney and Fall River Mills. Crews are installing permanent rockfall mitigation cabling and drapery systems on the slope above the highway using a helicopter. For the next three weeks there will be 30 minute delays on Mondays and Fridays and 70 minute delays on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
