Yet another Bear has been killed by a vehicle on Highway 299 in Trinity County. This time a Bear was struck by a semi truck a little east of Douglas City shortly before 1AM. Bears falling victim to vehicles on Highway 299 has been a monthly occurrence in Trinity County, and that’s just the Bears that are reported. Experts say there are likely at least that many that have been killed and gone unreported. For drivers of passenger cars, a collision with a Deer can be damaging, but a collision with a Bear can be devastating. Drivers through Trinity County are urged to watch out for the Bears.
