A 75-year-old Arcata man suffered major injuries in a Trinity County crash Thursday. At 11AM Patrick Myers was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger eastbound on Highway 299 west of Del Loma at high speed and passed a big rig in a “no passing” zone. As he moved back into the eastbound lane Myers lost control of the pickup and it rolled over several times. When emergency personnel arrived Myers was unresponsive, and then he regained consciousness and was extricated and transported to Mercy Hospital in Redding with a severe head injury.
