An elderly Shasta Lake City woman has died of injuries suffered when she was struck by a car Monday afternoon. A little before 2PM the 88-year-old woman was crossing Shasta Dam Boulevard outside of a crosswalk west of McConnell Avenue when she was hit by a Cadillac driven by 57-year-old Pamela Verhanes. The victim was hospitalized until she passed away on Wednesday. Her name has not been made public. The Sheriff’s Office says they don’t suspect alcohol or drugs, but Verhanes was cited for having things hanging from her rear view mirror obstructing her vision.
