The Shasta County Courthouse was evacuated Friday. Smoke was seen and smelled, apparently originating from the second floor. Redding Firefighters cleared everyone out of the building as they probed for a point of origin. It was determined to be a small electrical fire producing smoke from burning plastic wiring insulation. It was quickly extinguished and the courthouse reopened.
