Evacuations Lifted As Crews Reach 90% Containment Of The Ridge Fire

Most resources have been released from a fire near French Gulch. Aircraft, engines, hand crews and dozers have been battling the fire that threatened homes to the north of French Gulch in an area previously burned by the Carr Fire. Cal-Fire says the “Ridge Fire” has burned 28 acres and is now 90% contained. Evacuations were ordered Friday afternoon when the fire broke out, but they’ve all been lifted. The fire started near Trinity Mountain Road and Fawn Ridge Drive. Crews remain on scene mopping up and patrolling for hot spots. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
