A house in the Happy Valley area was damaged by fire Thursday afternoon. Firefighters were called to Majestic View Drive for a structure fire that apparently started at the rear of a home. There may have been an explosion. Aman was transported away by ambulance with unknown injuries
A vegetation fire off Long Hollow Road just west of Corning was stopped Thursday afternoon at almost 9 acres.
A large motor home and the vehicle it was towing were totally engulfed in flames on Highway 89 near Pilgrim Creek Road in Siskiyou County about 5 miles east of McCloud. All firefighters could do was to keep the flames from catching nearby brush and trees on fire. Traffic was delayed for some time as fire apparatus and other emergency vehicles were blocking the highway.
