A mobile home was destroyed by fire Sunday in North Redding. The fire started a little before Noon in Redding Hilltop Estates at the end of Erickson Way on the hill behind Shasta Lanes. The occupants and their pets got out safely. Firefighters fought on the interior until the roof collapsed and they had to take an offensive position from the outside.
A big rig crash with a hazardous materials spill forced the closure of Northbound Interstate 5 about 8 miles north of Weed Saturday night. It re-opened at 2:45AM Sunday morning.
