Firefighters were injured in a crash in Modoc County on Friday. A Cal Fire engine was responding to a structure fire when it left the pavement on Highway 299 east of County Road 257 near Alturas. The engine rolled over 4 or 5 times. Three firefighters were aboard. One had a head laceration and another suffered critical injuries and was transported by helicopter. He remains hospitalized.
