Flows Will Increase On The Trinty River Ahead Of The Hoopa Valley Tribes Bi-Annual Boat Dance Ceremony

Anyone who will spend time beside the Trinity River this weekend needs to know that the size of the river will increase substantially. The reason is to support the Hoopa Valley Tribe’s Bi-Annual Boat Dance Ceremony in the Community of Hoopa. On Friday afternoon releases from Lewiston Dam will be 450 cubic feet per second. On Sunday the releases will reach a peak of 2,000CFS. The Bureau of Reclamation will gradually return the river to the normal flow of 450CFS by late next week.
