The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office has filed a new set of 12 charges against a Redding man already facing over 120 allegations related to the sexual assault of children. Peter Mock, a former CAL FIRE Captain, was originally arrested in 2022 for over 70 counts, and saw several more cases brought forward against him for other alleged victims. These newest charges bring the total count to 134. This is the fourth time prosecutors have brought forward new charges against Mock after his initial arrest. These new cases are a major part of why none of the four cases against him have seen trial yet, as the new cases lead to new evidence needing to be evaluated. He is scheduled to appear in court again on January 21st, where he will be arraigned for his newest case.
