A man convicted of plotting to murder co-workers at a Chico radio station has been sentenced. Last June Chico Police were called to Results Radio on Manzanita Court. Most of the staff had already fled the building but radio personality Tim Buc More, was trapped on an enclosed rear patio. Officers breached the enclosure to free him. He had been stabbed in the back with scissors but his injury was minor because the end of the scissors were rounded and they did not break the skin. The attacker, 30-year-old Kevin Leeson, eventually surrendered. Leeson, who worked at the front desk, had arrived that morning and made a to-do list that included the items “Kill Tim” and “Kill Autumn”, referring to another co-worker. He later told police he thought the radio station was a front for a sex trafficking ring and that killing the victim would provide him closure for the abuse he experienced as a child. Leeson pled no contest last month after petitioned the court and being denied for mental health diversion. Thursday he was sentenced to 10 years in state prison. The cluster of radio stations includes Z-Rock, Thunder, Power and Bob.
