It’ll be an exciting day for car enthusiasts with multiple opportunities to see Kool April Nites cars in action. The Kool April drags are happening all day, from 8am to 10pm, at the Dragstrip east of the airport. Just take Rancho Road east and follow the signs. There are at least eight official show and shine events Friday. The Kool April Cruise is Friday night from 6:30PM to 8:30PM on Hilltop, Dana and Churn Creek in East Redding, with upwards of 10-Thousand spectators and participants expected. Anyone who doesn’t want to stay for the cruise needs to clear out before 6 O’clock. There will be a limited entertainment zone, with open drinks allowed only from participating businesses, who will issue special wristbands. It’ll only be in effect from 6PM to 9PM and only on Hilltop Drive, not the rest of the parade route. Kool April Drags continue Saturday. The main Kool April Nites event is also Saturday at the Civic Auditorium starting with a pancake breakfast by the Asphalt Cowboys at 8AM. More than 2000 show cars will be on display, along with a lot more to see, including a Dyno Machine to show the raw horsepower of some of the cars. Awards will be given away on Sunday.
