Many young people in Shasta County don’t know what they’re missing with the ongoing closure of Whiskeytown Environmental School. The camp had to be closed after the Carr Fire, but it will be rebuilt. Whiskeytown Environmental School Community has raised $5.8 Million toward a goal of nearly $7.5 Million that’ll be matched by the Federal Government. A fundraiser with dinner, dancing and an auction will take place this Saturday at the Fairgrounds in Anderson called “Back to Camp”. It’s a 21 and over event from 4:30PM to 10PM. $75 tickets can be purchased at wascommunity.org.
