Two gun club owners have been convicted of environmental crimes for allowing runoff into Clear Creek. Amrit Raj Kulasekaran and Mohit Raj Kulasekaran hired heavy equipment to move dirt at their Clear Creek Gun Club on Modesta View Court, which is on a hill above Clear Creek. The work was done without permits. It altered the course of a small stream and caused a lot of sediment to run into Clear Creek near the Horsetown Preserve. In the past several years, Millions of government Dollars have been invested in rehabilitating Clear Creek to make it more conducive to Salmon spawning. The District Attorney’s Office filed multiple misdemeanor charges against the brothers and last Thursday a jury returned guilty verdicts for six of the counts. The brothers return to court October 5th, and they could get 6 months in jail along with heavy fines, fees and restitution costs.
