Hundreds Protest Minneapolis ICE Shootings In Front Of Redding City Hall

Several hundred people showed up for a peaceful demonstration in front of Redding City Hall Monday afternoon to express outrage about deadly force used by Federal Immigration Agents in Minneapolis. It was billed as “Enough is Enough” and organized by the Democratic Central Committee of Shasta County. Alex Pretti was a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs I.C.U. Nurse with no criminal record who was forced to the ground by at least a half dozen ICE Agents and shot to death on a Minneapolis sidewalk. Pretti was legally armed with a permitted concealed weapon, but there’s been no evidence that he brandished it or threatened anybody with it. Video evidence shows Pretti’s gun had already been taken away when he was shot. Saturday’s killing follows the fatal shooting by an ICE Agent on January 7th of Renee Good, an unarmed civilian in Minneapolis. Thousands of Americans have taken to the streets nationwide to protest the shootings. A rough count put Monday’s attendance in Redding at 3 to 4 Hundred.
