Grand Jury members are needed for Shasta County, and an informational meeting will be hosted by former Grand Jurors on Thursday. The panel investigates any publicly administered and funded agency, either by their own initiative or in response to public complaints. They meet twice a month and serve one year terms. Being a Grand Juror requires a commitment of about 15 or 20 hours a week. A judge chooses 30 applicants and 19 are drawn randomly to be the Grand Jury, with the remaining as alternates.
